Schwalbe British 4X Series Rounds 3 & 4 Preview: Afan

Schwalbe British 4X Series Rounds 3 & 4 – Afan, South Wales: May 17/18 2025
This weekend – May 17/18, rounds 3 & 4 of the 2025 Schwalbe British 4X Series will take place in Afan, South Wales.
This incredible track features a massive rock section, corkscrew bridge and pro line that has double jumps over 35 feet long. If you’re new to 4X, don’t worry. The track completely caters for beginners and tests Elites which means the track is great for everyone.
Racing is always close, passing is frequent and races are never normally decided until the finish line. The track really showcases four cross and after a great start to the series in Chicksands five weeks ago, the organising team are excited for rounds three and four in Afan.

Ian Forsyth was on form at rounds one and two and will again be looking for another final win in Afan. But local rider and 4X legend Duncan Ferris will be looking to bounce back from a tough start to his year in Chicksands. He knows the track really well and is a veteran of the sport.
Dan Wagstaff, Ben Jones, Lucas Rose, Tom Bell and the rest of the Elite field will be looking for strong results in Afan.

In the women’s, Katherine Byng and Silvi Vargas will go head to head again to see who will come out with the win, but also look out for Katherine Oldfield. The 4X ProTour specialist will favour this bigger track and will be looking for a win this weekend.

The Afan 4X track is set in the grounds of Bryn Bettws lodge and campsite. This idyllic venue has full camping facilities plus a restaurant and bar for the evenings.
Campbell Coaching will be offering coaching all weekend and they will also have their airbag there all weekend for riders to have fun.
With racing available to riders aged 7 years and older, 4X really is the best way to get started in gravity Mountain Bike Racing. Click on the entry link below to get signed up now.
