This is the opening race on this brand new track at Afan Bike park in South Wales.

The track was designed by Phil Saxena and built by Robbie Griffiths

The track is just over 500metres long and includes a cork screw bridge corner same as used in the World Cup course at Belgium and Canada along with the longest 4x rock garden ever built in the world.

This is the big one!

Saturday is Round 7 of the British 4x series then Sunday its the Round 5 of the European 4X Series.

The Venue

This one great place with great views of the whole track from the big camping field over looking the track.

The track has been built by Phil Saxena

This is a great spector sport, you can see all the race action from start to finish.

Registration fee for the round four of the Euro Fourcross Series is 30 EUR (£30) and for the NPs4x 2010 25 EUR (£25). Payments in both £ and Euro accepted.

The Afan Forest Dirt Park directions

Once you rejoin the A4107 turn left, after about 1.5 miles take the first left towards Neath through the village of Pontredyfen.
Please drive carefully through the village. You will see a pub on the left almost as you leave the village called the Colliers (good beer & food)
Just past the Colliers turn right for Tonmawr and Bryn Bettws Lodge. After half a mile turn right right that will take you along an unsurfaced Forestry Commission road for about a mile to Bryn Bettws Lodge.

All categories registered with UCI will be run according to the most current UCI regulations in 2011.

The remaining categories will be run according to British Cycling and Euro 4X series guidelines in a 3 or 4 Moto format similar to BMX. 2011 Euro series rules are yet to be published.

An area will be created as close to the finish area as possible:

For Anti-Doping and Commissaires, there will be a gazebo with sides, tables, chairs, water and a large portable toilet.

The race office will be next to the finish line and will also house the timing system.

A Tag Heuer system will be used for timing using light beams
